For authorities and partners
Authentic Travel organises small-group expeditions to remote parts of the world. This page states our legal status, our licence and our financial security — and points to the public registers where every claim below can be checked independently.
The company holds a tour operator licence issued under the Polish Act on Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements, which implements Directive (EU) 2015/2302. In Poland such an entry is a condition of lawful operation, and it is a matter of public record.
Every Polish tour operator must hold financial security covering the repatriation of travellers and the refund of payments should the operator become unable to perform the contract. Ours takes the form of an insurance guarantee and is recorded in the same public register.
Nothing above needs to be taken on trust. The Polish register of tour operators is public and free to search.
A printable extract can be downloaded from the register itself, so the document reaches you from the authority rather than from us.
Groups are small — a dozen or so travellers. Before any payment is made, the traveller receives a written contract, a day-by-day itinerary and a full cost breakdown that also states what the price does not cover. No deposit is taken at first contact; a place is held for seven days. One named coordinator accompanies the traveller from the first telephone call to the return home.
The company has held its tour operator licence since 2008. Its founders have been organising expeditions for over twenty-five years, on all seven continents, for more than three thousand travellers — a record built on personal recommendation rather than advertising.
